Care and Handling
Care and Handling
- Add fresh, room-temperature water to your vase. Be sure to add the floral preservative that came with your shipment. Follow the proper measuring instructions on the preservative packet.
- Remove any foliage that will be underwater. This will prevent bacteria growth.
- Trim at least one inch off the bottom of each stem with a sharp knife or shears at a 45 degree angle.
- Add fresh water daily. Replace the water every 2 to 3 days.
- Keep your roses in a cool place, away from heat sources.
- When handling roses do not allow water to drip on heads.
Growing Practices
Rosique, grown by Eufloria Flowers, promotes sustainable growing practices throughout its operation. The roses are grown hydroponically in coconut fiber. The coconut fiber is a by-product derived from coconut growers in Sri Lanka. Eufloria also utilizes Integrated Pest Management (IPM) throughout the greenhouse. IPM is a growing practice where predator insects are released to control pest insects. This keeps the use of pesticides to an absolute minimum. In addition, the Eufloria Flowers’ facility has the ability to recycle water and uses cleaner-burning natural gas to heat the greenhouses. Furthermore, the greenhouses are lined with double poly roofs that help conserve energy. Eufloria also mulches all of its vegetation, recycles all the plastic on the greenhouses and recycles water to nearby pastureland and complimentary crops.
